Hurry Up, We are Waiting!!!!!

HandLettering (1)

Everyone is invited.

Please read the following guidelines before submitting your work to us.

-To submit your work all you have to do is email it to thepoctimes@gmail.com
-Your work should be original, and not copied off the internet. Otherwise, this will result in plagiarism.
-There is no particular limitation on the number of entries you can send, but we usually pick the best of the lot.
-We accept everything – art, poetry, quotes, fiction, nonfiction, travelogues, recipes, fashion ideas, photographs, videos, recordings etc.
-We also accept SoundCloud links and MP3 files.
-We do not accept edits with backgrounds taken off from the internet or even quotes by other authors.
-Even if the background image and quotes are yours, please don’t paste it onto the image and send us, because many times the text isn’t clear and doesn’t match the theme.
-If you want to post on our channel, you need to get in touch with Willow Lucy. (Message us privately, and we’ll help you get in touch with her)

Designing:

-If you want your photograph or artwork to be on the cover, your work must be related to the theme and should be in portrait mode. The approximate dimensions are 12 * 10 inches.
-To get a full page to yourself, your image needs to be 12 * 10 inches.
-For a double page spread, your image needs to be approximately 12 * 20 inches.
-Sending a poem along with an image doesn’t guarantee that they’ll be grouped together in the magazine. We often pair them with other works, and we may or may not use your image. This is because we work with limited space and our magazine is about uniting different forms of art.

Copyright info:

-Please try not to send us images with big watermarks as we might remove it or not accept your photo at all. This is to avoid making the image look out of place. You do not need to worry because we give you full credit anyway by adding new watermarks. We’re cool with small ones though.
-Your work is edited while designing the mag, and by editing, we mean rectifying grammatical and spelling errors, and maybe just adjusting the size, the brightness and the contrast of your images.
-When you send us your work for publishing, we partially own the rights to it. And since we will be launching print issues soon, we need to very careful while redistributing. So, please send us fresh content meant exclusively for our publication. If you work has been published in other magazines, pls do not send it to us.
-Please don’t send us stuff that has been posted on a blog either. This denies us of new and unique content.

Remember, you can email us for any other queries. Happy creating!

Into the waves, with me,
lets drift way
Take my hands, believe it,
it won’t be cold
Like every love story, one day,
death will come
In infinite ways, you’ll wait,
and I will love you
We don’t need, to fall asleep,
chasing cars or clouds
I blame you, I can’t hear anymore,
clattering of winter birds
You make my night, everyday,
an opera of winking stars
Not all superheroes, to save a soul,
wear velvet capes and cosmic rings
When some powers, like you have,
are just blessings to love.

Beautiful Shadow

Hey Marriott, my ecstasy of this world,
Forgive me for what i have said,
A lot of somebody stood infront me,
I don’t blame this fortified prudent smile,
It doesn’t take long for them to realize,
There is no one to stand in my way.
Down the road I will be over you,
A pause will break in your lips,
And I will come to make you my equipoise.

You’re not the one to be let aside,
I will grow with you and be your hope,
Forgive me for the time you wept alone,
It will be a thousand years we live together,
Some in our hugs and the rest in dreams,
You’ll find your soul in me when you’re lost,
All I ever wanted is to slow down with your kiss.

Open your eyes to the skyline split,
And I’ll see the stars meet in your eyes,
Forgive me for your heartbeats I missed,
I know it is the perfect love in you, my girl!
We’ll again be dancing to our favorite song,
And underneath your breath I’ll whisper,
“You are the most beautiful shadow of my darkness”
Then you’ll know I’ve met an angel in person.

Forgive me when your words were alone,
Don’t look at me with that anger, just pull me close,
You don’t know what it’s like to watch the night die alone,
Now, we will be the waves to ride with the birds,
Maybe you don’t believe my only voice,
But I will be here when you’ll wake the last mile,
And we will share the only rose over our graves.

Tamarind Daylight

Tamarind Skylight

A sight below thy tamarind skylight,

You see mine eyes sparkle with tears,

For mine sight, today now homeless,

Standing infront thy infinite winks,

Waiting whence farthest waves and closest footsteps,

Brings back daylight to mine silhouette,

For midnight where mine every cry finds thee

A forever home you found, away mine peace,

The day I wait for to come,

Whence mine soul be taken to thy world,

For now mine world nothing,

But thy tamarind skylight.

Untold Words

dsc_0119

Words fell infront of the feet,

Scratched and burned,

Said unsaid, crushed under, and betrayed,

Long road of many goodbyes, heathen spirits,

Hazy footsteps draped with tears.

And yesterday only days lived in disguise,

No scars followed today, but few shattered words,

Untimely dew drops made the night darker,

A story past last kiss,

Shining with the stars,

Embers of two heartbeats, united among the dreams,

Few hallowed words left with the moon,

To greet the grave.

Here below the midnight rain, demons of faceless sleep rose up,

Closer got dunes of time and,

Left with the fallen rose.

Colder got the sunshine and the blessed soul,

Soul that kept the words locked in secret,

The spaces between the fingers bled in hues of a silent cry,

When hymens of a story written in heaven, found everything,

Except the words that found you, and, our love.
